music is powerful. scratch that. music is very powerful. music can bring you up and take you down. music makes you know that however you are feeling, whether it is anger, sadness, happiness, regret, sorrow, love, lust, longing, ecstasy, hope, faith, or lonliness; that someone out there has felt or is feeling the same way. i fully realized the power of music this weekend. music has the power to bring people together. it can bring someone who hasnt been able to shed a tear in a month to tears with lyrics that are more than just words. it can make someone remove their wall of protection, and just feel. I shed my own share of salty soul as well. Not ashamed, but rather in awe. I have never found music to be more fitting in a situation than this weekend, from the sounds of an iHome to the live performance of Snow Patrol. Its something unnatural. Its more than a coincidence that they decided to play the perfect songs this weekend. I may not be too strong a believer in a higher power but sometimes I am just dumbfounded by how events can unfold in such a symbolic way. I cant explain it. Im just dumbfounded.
Let music be a friend when you cant find one. Connect with the songs. Become the beat. Sing.
After this past week of concerts there's nothing i would rather do than be able to perform on stage. I wanna be able to bring that feeling to people. I wanna be able to connect with thousands all at once.
This is power.
