through the smoke in yorba linda.


while sitting in the lobby, i saw a kid in a baseball uniform with a bloody towel held up to his face. me, being the idiot i am, asked him if he got hit with the ball. he nodded yes. his dad comes rushing in and i hear him say "i cant find the tooth. i musta dropped it on the feild." The kid wanted to yell what the fuck you dumb fucking ass hole but had to hold back and just raise his arms and roll his eyes with disdain. he went in while the dad went back to look for it. about 45 minutes later he was back, tooth on ice, and the other doctors were talking about how someone would have to jam it back in there.

then there was a young vato probably a few years younger than me. he was accompanied by a displeased mother but for one who this was not unusual. he had two fresh black eyes with some bruises and lumps on his face. and one hell of a limp. i could not catch all of it but either this kid got the shit kicked out of him or was hit by a car.

then while i was in my room waiting to be discharged i could hear one of the nurses talking to an elderly gentleman. he had been in a fender bender but he sounded pretty bad. after 15 minutes i stepped out of my room to see what was taking so long and then i saw him and remebered him talking about his wreck. he was fumbling for something on his bed while his glasses fell out of his pockets so i helped him out. he was missing a front tooth. i hope that didnt happen from the wreck. on top of it he drove a 1993 so his chest got fucked up because he had no airbags.

when walking in i saw an unconcious woman being gurneyed to a room and while i was leaving the paramedics were taking another one to their ambulance.


i dont know how my mom can do that everyday.
