im sorry if there are people who actually take time to read this. i know my entries are not works of art such as the great philisophical names as Aristotle, Vinston, and Ramona. i will attempt but fail to up the ante.
so the other day, zack and haygood and i were sitting on zack's nifty couches, and out popped a yearbook. i dont know how it started but people were categorized. 3 categories.
sadly, the first category has many people in it, and its a category about juniors, and yes i am still considered a junior, and lets just say this category was comprised of people who i maybe do not like as much so to say, and lets say this number was quite high, say like if the number of kids in my grade was 180, and lets say that for some reason one decided to divide that number by 3, and then maybe add the amount of fingers it takes to make a "pleaser", they might be somewhere near that number.
the next category was comprised of legitimate friends in my grade. i dont mean just acquaintances, i mean like people who i call to hang out and actually can have a good conversation with. i got to 16. now i thought that was bad, but when haygood and zack did it, their numbers were below mine.
the third category was still legitimate friends but this time seniors. 24.
now i know that me hating about a third of my grade sounds ridiculous, but it really doesnt bother me. i guess im a picky person. i go for the best of the best even if i am surely not one of them. if i did not keep better company than myself, i cant even imagine of how things would. me hanging out with a bunch of me is just trouble. and its weird cuzz ive actually gotten to know a lot of people in my grade. ive been kind of a nomad ever since i got to oxford, cruising the lunch groups, and trying to find a feeling of comfort for a little bit. i guess ive weeded out some people that i just dont click with, and sure i guess i could make myself friends with everyone, but im having enough trouble keeping up with the ones i got that i probably couldn't handle it. the 16 that i am close with, well they mean a lot to me and im glad they can put up with me. and the 24 seniors, i think im lucky that i met so many of them in just a year. that means i have 40 ( and a handful more from 07). im surprised. i mean, the way i act, and the way other people see me, i figured it would be 5 or 10. im lucky. im really lucky. i dont know how else i can say it.
i guess what im trying to get at is, well im trying to help me see who i am, rather than listening to what other people tell me. i mean ive heard stuff all year long, that i dont act like a junior, or that my whole grade hates me, or im just a d bag. fact is, i really dont care. im so content with how things are. i dont think my grade defines me, or what age group i choose to hang out with. in fact, i could not imagine this year without all the people i recently met and become friends with. a year without ramon's engine roaring car rides, or ramin's horrible copy cat impressions, or daniel's endless stories, or david's constant reminder that i have 17 friends, or jillian's juice bags (i hope thats provocative), or meaghan's bitterness, or arda's constant sensual rubbing of my body, or vincent's sweet sweet comebacks, or michael hsiao's resemblance to lois, or kevin lee's few but greatly appreciated smiles and hellos, or brenda's yelling of shak, or lynh's smile when i give her a banana, or francesca's frumpy lip puckering, or caroline's "pretty pretty princess" twirl, or shawna's l33t speak, or christine's slapping of my face at my awesome pick up lines, or jenelle's demonstration of the gaseous nature of girls, or steven's whats going on whats going on whats going on, and caralyn's odd attraction to my shnoz, or paul's deep late night talks, a year without all of that, and so much more, would not be a year i would have wanted. everytime ive seen all these people together this summer i have just gotten so damn excited i dont know what to do with myself.
so dont be surprised if i ever call you to hang out, and i have nothing in mind to do, cuzz some food, some sitting, and some talking is all ill probably need. ima make sure these calls happen to, because im gonna keep that 40 (and a handful).
btw, dollar if you can tell me where my title is from.
peace

The word "strategery" (pronounced struh-TEEJ-er-ee) came into being when it was used in a Saturday Night Live sketch, written by James Downey, airing October 7, 2000, which satirized the performances of George W. Bush and Al Gore, two candidates for President of the United States, during the first presidential debate for election year 2000.[1] Comedian Will Ferrell played Bush and used the word "strategery" (a mock-Bushism playing on the words "strategy" and "strategic"), when asked by a mock debate moderator to summarize "the best argument for his campaign", thus satirizing Bush's reputation for mispronouncing words. The episode was later released as part of a video tape titled Presidential Bash 2000.
